The Hat Project

Years ago, song lyrics were written by Tiffany’s dad called, “What didjya do with muh hat?”

As we all know and understand, many cancer patients, mainly women, wear some type of head covering after hair loss from treatments. For her first battle against cancer, Tiffany wore many different types of head coverings, mainly hats. By the time she was battling the brain tumors, she opted to go bald as some of her pictures reveal. Her Dad is bald, however, she really rocked that look especially with the big hoop earrings.

As the illness progressed and it positioned her into more rest, she kept certain items close by, the remote control, her purse, and head coverings. This time her head coverings were not for vanity, but for warmth. Except as it were, with her eyesight weakening, she invariably kept losing track of items in her bed, and would ask her Dad, “Where is my hat, what did you do with my hat”. At first this didn’t register with him, but before she passed, he put it together that she was consistently “losing” her hat and asking for it, and he had written that song years before.

The humor wasn’t lost, or the irony. Every time she asked for her head covering, he was reminded of that song, “What didjya do with muh hat”? The tune was befitting of her approach to life, fun, exciting, and lively. After she passed it clicked that he should finish that song and dedicate it to her, and simply donate monies from that project for cancer related issues.

Tiffany’s dad commissioned a musician friend who put together an arrangement based on the tune that was in his head. Then he commissioned some fine musicians recommended by the Vault recording studio in Pittsburgh. Everyone gathered at the Vault, did the recording, made revisions and the song master was sent to Flying Scooter Productions in Pittsburgh who organized this video in conjunction with her Dad’s vision.

We hope you enjoy not just the music, but the underlying message, Live the life you have!

Tiffany’s head covering now is a Halo. I know she can’t lose that “Hat”. LOL Until we met again, my little birdie. Donations
